There are many ways to make money on the Internet--and
designing material for the Internet is one of those ways.
Professionals who design web sites are known as web
masters, and they help build a web presence for businesses
seeking a professional presentation online. Web masters
are quite good at what they do, and they often make a lot
of money performing this service for people.

Web masters charge fees for a host of issues pertaining
to building and maintaining the web site. For example, to
simply build the web site--usually just a few pages--these
professionals charge one set fee. However, after the site is
up it must be maintained. Another monthly fee covers this
aspect of their work. Given the scope of the work involved,
businesses wanting to make a 'splash' on the Internet are
usually smart to pay web masters for this work rather than
doing it themselves.

Webmasters will run a web site and address the technical
aspects of the web site should the need arise.  This is an
important investment, and pays well for the webmaster
behind the page, because anything may arise that takes your
page down.  Even a page down for a single second could cost
you hundreds upon thousands of potential customers
depending on the size of your market and audience.  You do
not want this to happen on any account, and as such,

It's certainly not for everyone. However, with enough
dedication and skill anyone can learn how to design
web pages for profit and have many happy clients to show

An active web designer will have a portfolio created of web
sites they have designed for potential clients and share
that with them when trying to gain customers.  Web
designers try not to take on too many projects at one time
so that they do not get bogged down trying to make web
sites at the last minute and as such risking their
relationship with a given client.  Web designers also
maintain there own web sites which can double as a business
site and portfolio keeper all-in-one.

Web designers will work for a "set fee" contract basis
with their clients. That will usually cover many aspects of
the web site, which will be documented in the contract.
That way if further work is needed, clients can go somewhere
else if they want to add to the web site if necessary. The
contract makes sure that both parties are safe and
happy, an important consideration when dealing in the
face-less Internet.
